Friends of the Allport presents a talk by lecturer and Antarctic scholar John Williamson

This month’s Friends of the Allport talk is by John Williamson: ‘Uncle Bill’ – An assessment of E.A. Wilson and the Discovery Expedition to Antarctica.

John is a teacher and lecturer who specialises in topics that focus on polar history, art and exploration. He has worked as a tour guide in Antarctica, has lectured on Antarctic History at the University of Tasmania Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies, lectures nationally for Australian Decorative & Fine Arts Societies (ADFAS) on Antarctic and Exploration Art, and is the co-writer of the Tasmanian Government’s – an annotated map of Hobart’s Antarctic Sites.
